Katheryne Pugliese, M.A., M.Phil.
Welcome!
My name is Katheryne (Katy) Pugliese —I am a social and criminal justice researcher, completing my PhD in Criminal Justice at John Jay College and the CUNY Graduate Center. I also work side-by-side with practitioners and researchers supporting rigorous program evaluation, strategic planning, and language translation for health and justice-related organizations.
I am deeply committed to assessing and interrogating the intersection between criminal justice and public health focusing on community-based programming related to drug use, community violence, and housing/homelessness. My dissertation undertakes a mixed-method evaluation using geospatial data and qualitative interviews to examine how and where overdose prevention centers (OPCs) impact local communities in New York.
